Box's hosted MCP server lets an agent search and use Box content over OAuth without the client ever handling raw file payloads: files and folders, metadata and templates, comments, collaborations and shared links, plus Box AI tools for asking questions about documents and extracting structured metadata from them. Box is explicit that the server does not bypass Box permissions.
